Our staff has extensive experience in the traffic safety industry, holding American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) certifications as Traffic Control Technicians, Pavement Marking Technicians and Traffic Control Supervisors. Our administrative support staff is also industry-experienced and highly-qualified.

Meet the Partners

Alma Pickle, President

A native of northeastern Oklahoma, Alma has over 20 years experience in the traffic control industry. Over the course of her career, she has performed every administrative and accounting function necessary to steer the business. She is a working partner who is actively involved in the daily financial and administrative operations of AWS.

Alma is an alumnae of Northeastern State University (NSU) in Tahlequah, and is member of the National Association of Women In Construction (NAWIC). Her role as President of AWS puts the company in a unique position in the industry. Not only is she one of few female presidents in the industry, she is also a member of the Choctaw Nation.

John P. Thomas, Executive Vice-President

John also calls northeastern Oklahoma home. Initially employed as a laborer on a highway crew to assist with traffic control responsibilities at various construction sites, John is now a working partner in his role as Estimator.

Throughout his career, John's knowledge and skill gained from working in each division of the traffic control industry have made him a more than qualified leader. His responsibilities include management and oversight of field operations along with estimating and bidding. John has over 22 years experience in the industry.

Scott Gaddy, Vice-President

Scott is also from northeastern Oklahoma. Initially employed as a laborer assisting with traffic control operation, he is now a working partner, serving as the Railroad Operations Director.

Scott has a positive, long-standing working rapport with the rail industry; developing this type of connection by years of dedicated effort to meet their every need. Scott is responsible for the management and coordination of railroad operations, working with railroads throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Illinois and Texas. He is an alumnae of the University of Oklahoma with over 19 years experience in the industry.
